Catch the latest, cherish the timeless
they’re all for the 2003 version bc merch from 2006 is stupid expensive
God I know there’s such a slim chance we’ll ever get a TCM remake sequel. But I wonder every day what happened to Tommy and the family in general.. in some deleted scenes it shows officers discovering the tea lady’s dead body, many years in the future as Erin is depicted as an older woman, and Thomas walking out of it. So I guess it’s canon they survive. I have so many ideas for a sequel honestly. I guess there’s always a chance 🙏🙏
ok WHERE exactly is this pic from?? there wasn’t a scene like this in the movie, nor the director’s cut, so is this a deleted scene? if so, where can i find it??
{ Alligator Blood - Nicole Dollanganger }
Knee-deep in the poacher's dream
He dragged that thing out back and he
Hung it upside down, slit its belly open
And let it bleed out
He held my head & made me watch, he
Filled my mouth up with its blood and said
"Grow up weak or grow up tough"
This song and so many of Nicole’s remind me so much of TCM. This, Executioner, Poacher’s Pride and Rabid the most.
This is so interesting.. and if it had ended that way, it would have created much more space for a sequel. I’m reading through the script right now.
I’ve compiled a list of songs (pretty much all by Nicole Dollanganger and Ethel Cain) that are reminiscent of these movies. ⏬
• Dog Teeth, Rabid, Alligator Blood, Poacher’s Pride and Executioner by Nicole Dollanganger all literally seem like they were written about Thomas. It’s genuinely uncanny.
• Mean by Nicole Dollanganger is also very reminiscent of Hoyt, at least the first part of the song.
• Two-Headed Mother by Ethel Cain for Luda Mae.
• And of course, pretty much the entire Preacher’s Daughter album is so fitting for the TCM remakes. Especially Inbred, Strangers, Family Tree, Ptolemaea, and August Underground. The entire theme and story behind the album is so incredibly similar.
do y’all think thomas hewitt can talk? i wonder whether he can but chooses not to, or never has
wait how did he go from having curly/wavy hair to like completely straight hair
someone explain
he’s just like me
omg i’ve never seen these photos before where do y’all find the behind the scenes photos 😭
What is Thomas Hewitt's disease?
_____________________________
Here's a question that has been bothering me for way too long. Does anybody actually know what Thomas's disease is? It has been referred to as an unusual/rare disease by multiple people and websites, but there hasn't been a direct answer.
I do know that Thomas has necrosis, that's an obvious answer, but what specific disease is it? It's not exactly skin necrosis (gangrene), it's not an impossible likelihood since it is possible, but it is a rare and highly morbid neonatal condition with significant mortality.
Malacia, perhaps? It has been mentioned that Thomas was diagnosed with neurodegeneration at the age of twelve, but that dosen’t sound right either since it only affects the brain.
I thought of subcutaneous fat necrosis (SCFN) since it may take months to years for fat necrosis to complete its cycle and break down in a body. Newborns can get it as a rare case because they are being delivered under traumatic conditions. However, keep in mind that it is said to be harmless and usually goes away on its own. And if it bothers someone too much, then it could get removed by doing biopsy.
There's so many possibilities, and I'm not a professional, if anybody has any slightest idea. Please tell me in the comments, cause this is a difficult one.

I think I figured out Thomas Hewitt's disease
_____________________________
_____________________________
I just realised something, Thomas might have lupus (SLE). This isn't confirmed, nor do I believe that Thomas's disease is actually real. However, it's good to think of the idea that it was actually inspired by something or at least make sense.
The majority of lupus patients experience skin issues, including blisters or rashes. Sometimes, lupus simply affects the skin, while other times, it affects other bodily parts as well. Cutaneous lupus refers to skin issues that are unique to lupus patients. Three primary categories exist:
Chronic cutaneous lupus (also called discoid lupus) causes round, disc-shaped sores, usually on the face and scalp. The sores can cause scars or changes in skin color.
Subacute cutaneous lupus causes a red scaly rash or red ring-shaped sores. It usually happens on skin that gets sunlight, like the neck and arms.
Acute cutaneous lupus causes a butterfly-shaped rash on the cheeks and nose that looks like a sunburn (called malar rash). Sometimes it affects other body parts, like the arms and legs.
Other skin-related issues that people with lupus may experience include: Loss of hair Calcinosis: calcium accumulation resulting in hard, white lumps beneath the skin Mucosal ulcers (mouth, nose, or vaginal sores) Blood or visible blood vessels on the skin can also be problematic for those with lupus. Here are several examples: Raynaud's illness, which causes numbness and white or blue fingers and toes in response to stress or cold Livedo reticularis is a purple or blue pattern that appears through the skin and resembles fishnet stockings or lace. Palmar erythema (redness in the palms of the hands) Petechiae are little red patches on the skin that are brought on by thrombocytopenia, or reduced platelets in the blood.
A good thing to mention is that lupus skin problems are not contagious. You can’t catch them or give them to someone else. It only occurs when you'r body's immune system attacks its/your own tissue and organs. The thing about lupus is that it creates a slouth of unexpected symptoms. It can take a while for it to be diagnosed, and once you have done that, it can be incredibly stressful. Lupus is like a disease that can really flare up, physically and even psychological causes can cause lupus to flare up.
So here comes the question that people are first thinking about: Is it cureable? Unfortunately, lupus has no cure, but medicines and lifestyle changes can help treat and manage it.
See a physician on a regular basis. Seeing a doctor on a frequent basis rather than only when your symptoms get worse may help your doctor avoid flare-ups and address common health issues like stress, nutrition, and exercise that can help prevent complications from lupus. Be astute. Wear protective clothes, such as a hat, long-sleeved shirt, and long pants, and apply sunscreen with an SPF of at least 55 whenever you go outside because UV light might provoke a flare. Engage in frequent physical activity. Exercise helps lower a person's chance of heart attack, maintains strong bones, and improves your general health.
Avoid smoking. Smoking can exacerbate the effects of lupus on your heart and blood vessels and raise your risk of cardiovascular illness. Consume a nutritious diet. Whole grains, fruits, and vegetables are the main components of a nutritious diet. One may occasionally be subject to dietary limitations, particularly if you suffer from kidney impairment, high blood pressure, or gastrointestinal issues. Find out from a doctor if you require calcium and vitamin D supplements. Supplementing with vitamin D may help persons with lupus, according to some studies. To maintain healthy bones, you can take a calcium supplement to help you reach the 1,000–1,200 mg daily dietary intake, depending on your age.
Now, I'm not a professional. All I have done is going through multiple sites for research purposes in order to figure this mystery out. If you don't agree with me, that's totally fine. I want to know your opinions and own theories/takes on it cause I don't think there's ever going to be a clear answer. Not unless the original directors or any actor from the remakes states it to us.
Thomas didn’t just kill his boss for firing him. That job was all he thought his life was worth. He was rejected from the army in the beginning of the movie if i’m remembering correctly, and he started working at 12. That job was his entire life, and the only time anyone had ever told him he was useful.
We can also see this in the way he composes himself. In The Beginning, he’s a lot more physically put together. His clothes are still filthy but it’s nothing compared to 2003, where his clothes are literally black with grime and ripped all over. He’s also much quieter in the Beginning, but in the 2003 movie, it’s like he’s lost all sense of normalcy and just embraced absolute insanity because that’s all he can do.
Now, he sees killing people as his only purpose, just like he saw the butcher job as his only purpose before. Because that’s all he is treated as, a weapon or a tool. He is never treated like a person, not even by his own family. And so he doesn’t see himself as a person. He stops trying to even act like a person.
He literally became the monster everyone told him he was.
I’ve never posted before but I saw this post and just had to say it-
I believe the very prominent difference between Thomas in the 2006 movie compared to the 2003 movie was written SO well.
He is physically and mentally rotting. His nose has completely rotted off of his face, and idk if anyone else noticed this but he’s wearing the exact same clothes as the 2006 movie, and they don’t appear to have been washed (which means that’s almost 4 years of blood and gore buildup 🤢).
As for his mental state, in the prequel he is completely silent, very shy and reserved. And 4 years later, he’s very vocal, he has a lot of personality, he’s so much crueler and more dedicated to his work. I believe this could either be due to his mental condition (mental deterioration) or the sheer amount of trauma he has, from both his childhood, the bullying and isolation, and in adulthood, the constant murder and violence. That has to change a person drastically. Or both. And the fact that that’s reflected on his appearance is a great plot point in my opinion.
Ik no one will see this but had to say my piece lol
Is it just me or does maskless Tommy in tcm 2003 just. Not look like Tommy.
Here, walk with me.
Here we have Thomas. Beautiful Thomas. Long wavy hair, thick arms, wide chest, comfy, pillow-perfect tummy, intense, soul shaking eyes, drop dead gorgeous--
I digress. He's the man we all know and love.
This. Does not look like Thomas. Not really. Not compared to some of the art interpretations I've seen. It just doesn't fit. Something doesn't add up.
Even if you cover the lower part of his face it just doesn't look like him. The eyes just don't really add up.
And I thought I had other picture with a different angle, but apparently I didn't save it. But if you rewatch this scene they committed a crime on this man's hairline. God awful lies.
Idk the artists handles so I won't add some of the art I have saved of him maskless, but if you just look it up you'll see what I mean.
This just doesn't look like Tommy!!!!
I've been thinking about this for a while because I haven't actually seen or read any Thomas Hewitt x reader fanfic where the main character is a meek/shy individual with an emotional nature. By that, I mean somebody who is timid, not self-assured, soft-spoken, gentle, pacifistic, and often afraid to speak up for himself/herself. Not to mention that if being mocked or bullied, will start to tear up a bit and become more secluded.
Every time I read about Y/n, they are always this Mary Sue like temple who still ends up with odd or disrespectful issues. Like there's too many of them. Get rid of them! Bring me something new! Because I have no idea what the Hewitt's would do with that sort of person. Especially if it was a female instead of a male. What would Thomas and the family do with such a person? In theory, it seems obvious, but I genuinely don't know.
Hi again! I broke this up into headcanons as well as a little one shot - Hope that's okay!

Thomas is a shy individual himself - Knowing this, I doubt he'd have an issue with any aspect of your nature. He'd actually be more protective of you than of someone who's much more..vocal about their displeasure.
Thomas doesn't mind the timidness, he's fully willing to be the 'strong' one in the relationship..he's kinda been forced into the roll within his family.
Charlie will tease you. A lot. He knows what gets on your nerves, how to pry under your skin - What makes you tick, cry, and breakdown; It's a favorite pastime of his, that is, when you're still a 'guest' captive.
He'll bring up traumatizing moments, taunting you with the possibility of 'ending up like the rest.' Hoyt pulls strings not even you knew were there:
"One word, and you'll end up splattered 'cross this damn wall."
{If you're fem-presenting} "Momma only likes you 'cause you're a girl, Once she see's how much of a harlot you are, she'll throw you right on out."
Once he's gotten used to you {or you've proved your 'worth'}, he'll switch things up a bit:
"Y'know, Tommy's got a real sensitive heart..you break it, s'not gone end well for any of us."
{Talking to a family member} "They're not too bad, huh? Small, quiet, always does as they're told, not too much of a hassle, now, are they?"
--
Thomas won't necessarily stand up for you, but he'll comfort you almost immediately
If you're ever in a particular mood, Thomas is pretty respectful of boundaries. If you need to be left alone, he's just fine with that. He might leave you a note and slide it under your door - Just a quick little "I love you" or something similar.
If you prefer direct comfort, he's fully willing to let you cry it out , or vent to him. He won't be able to respond much, but know he's processing it all. Depending on how comfortable the two of you are, he's willing to hold you/your hand, some pats on the back and such.
Any comfort you show him, he'll show back. For example; If you gently wipe/caress his face down after {or when} he cries, he'll do the same for you. Ask for what you want, and he'll do just that..most of the time 🫀
--
Thomas isn't a huge fan of confrontation - Anything confrontational outside of 'work', really. He knows his 'place' in the family, and isn't willing to push it {aka, argue with his family}. He won't argue for you, or get any family members to stop their pestering, but he will kill for you. Anytime a victim gets too close, he's got something sharp in his hands.
If they hurt you {or anyone in the family, really}, whether it be emotionally or physically, prepare for the goriest, most blood-caked basement you've ever encountered. He needs to take his anger out, and believe me, he will - Even with your pacifistic pleas.
--
Outside of his protective nature, your pacifistic and emotional nature tends to rub off on Thomas. He knows what he's doing, and how important it is to the family - But he gets moments of doubt at times, which are amplified around you.
Those people had lives..families just like his.
Meat.
Meat is all they are.
Don't fail the family, Thomas. They're {you} disposable, family isn't.
_____
Everyone was overwhelmed with the new..'livestock' that came in this afternoon. Although a small group, they fought hard. Hoyt had gotten his nose punched in just thirty minutes prior - It was all crooked and overflowed with blood dripping down his cupid's bow. Momma had gotten it taken care of - Thomas had helped 'realign' his nose best he could, whilst momma helped pack the bleeding. Hoyt would sure swell up and bruise within the next few days..if he hasn't already..
Instead of trying to rest, he bombarded you with insults - "What the fuck is wrong with you?! You didn't think to tell us one of them got out?" - "How fucking useless are you?!" He was really mad at you for that one..
Just like last time, you cried. Frantic, raw, disheveled cries. You fucked up...badly. The thought plagued you terribly, it ate away every ounce of assurance you had. I'm sorry..I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry..it rung through your mind, but your body was paralyzed as it knelt on the carpet; You wouldn't be speaking for quite some time..
It wouldn't matter anyway - Hoyt wasn't the type to hear it. You put the family in danger, that's all that mattered. It didn't matter if you were "sorry" or not - You threatened the Family. Who the hell do you think you are? After all we've given you? Food, shelter, safety, a place of purpose?
Ungrateful. That's what you are. A selfish, clumsy, inconsiderate ingrate.
You were shaking - Desperate to apologize, make it up to them. Your hands covered your face, leaving only small opening to peer through. The room was lit only by a small, vintage lamp in the corner, though that light suddenly blurred within darkness -
You felt your hands being pried from your face, though gently. It was Thomas - Wasn't much of a surprise, he was always the one to ground you.
He held eye contact with you as he lightly dusted away your tears with the backside of his index finger. He held your shaking hands tenderly, placing them at your knees. As he let go of your hands, he slowly raised his {hands} back to your face, tilting his head slightly as if to ask for permission -You continued to sniffle and gasp, providing a small, shaky nod in affirmation. Thomas benevolently grasped your cheeks, wiping tears as he did. You and Thomas had developed this wordless affirmation - a way to ground each other in times of need; He placed his forehead to yours. You often joked that you two 'looked like bugs' from the unconventional angle, and he'd chuckled best he could. He loved you. Truly, loved you.
The room was unusually silent - You looked beside you to see Luda Mae and Hoyt gone, only Uncle Monty facing the window as he read the news. Momma must've dragged Hoyt out...thankfully. You finally looked back at him, he really did look like a bug from this angle.., but he was the sweetest man. He left you a note earlier this morning, right after Charlie had yelled at you the night before:
Nothing's gonna hurt you, baby - I love you.
-Thomas

Loves ya - More posts coming this week 🫀
TW: Discussions of Depression, Mental Health, Self-Harm, Skin Conditions, Personal Neglect, Hygiene Neglect, Descriptions of Injuries/Conditions/Bodily Functions?
Odor:
Thomas smells gross as fuck - You will vomit all your organs out ten times over before dying repeatedly {with love}.
No but seriously - Thomas does not take care of himself. At all. He will go weeks without a shower. He'd go months if it wasn't his momma and uncles nagging him {the smell gets oh so bad}.
--
Skin Conditions:
Because of how much he's on his feet, his body chafes - Usually around his thighs and groin. This paired with the lack of cleansing + constant sweet buildup, he's in constant pain. Not that he can't handle the pain, but it creeps up on him at times.
He also has a lot of acne - On his face, neck, back, highs, glutes, lots of places. Typically blackheads and inflamed cysts, papules, and pustules. He's learned not to pick...but sometimes he can't help himself {same, Thomas}.
--
Infections:
His neglected hygiene is one of the reasons {in my headcanon} that his nose rotted off. The constant suffocation with his {dirty} mask as well as the sweat and dirt buildup fostered an infection. Infections in this area are deadly - but with the right treatment, such as antibiotics {or amputation depending on how bad it's gotten} the individual can survive. Infections can lead to necrosis if left untreated, which in Thomas' case, ate away his nose {again, in my headcanon🫀}.
When he picks at his skin {popping, scratching, cutting}, he's not too good at keeping the area clean. This causes the skin to get infected; This usually presents in high inflammation, pus, and swelling {in his case}.
--
Hair:
Oh boy...his hair is KNOTTED AND MATTED !! This poor man..No wonder he cut his hair in the 2003 remake..it must've been a lot to handle.
His curls are THIRSTYYY, desperate for some moisture {mine too, Thomas..}.
If you know how to take care of textured hair, PLEASE please PLEASE teach him how. Please teach him how to detangle it..his hair is a knotted matted mess going through a drought rn.
Please deep-shampoo his hair..please - It has more oil than a southern cookout. Deep-condition it too..lord knows he needs it.
I think he'd actually feel very cared for if someone did his hair {by someone I mean his partner} - It would be an intimate moment for him; Getting to be so vulnerable isn't something he takes lightly, y'know.
Brush and detangle his hair, wash it, moisturize it, STYLE IT !!!! Maybe help encourage his curls, give him kisses too {he'll be blushing so so hard}. If any of the family saw it, he'd be so embarrassed {Luda would love it}.
L: "Look how handsome you look, Tommy! My sweet boy, getting all pampered." {She'd love this so much, would most definitely tell Kathryn/Tea Lady about it 😉}
H: "Didn't know you were going all soft, Tommy." {He'd say this half-jokingly, whilst he chuckles like a smug idiot}
--
Thomas isn't neglecting his hygiene out of laziness; He's disgusted with himself. The less he cares for himself, the more disgusted he gets. The more disgusted he gets, the less he wants to look at himself. Depression also plays a major role in his self-neglect, suppressing his motivation and desire to take care of himself. He views it more as a chore rather than an act of self-respect and health concerns.
He hates having to see himself in the shower - and he most DEFINITELY hates having to touch himself {in the shower, you perv}. You'll {his partner} have to coax him into taking care of himself - A reward system would help. Lots of praise is most DEFINITELY a reward he's willing to accept.
"That's much better, Tommy; Good job." - "Look how handsome you are!" - "You did good, Thomas; Thank you {for ___}"
Calling him handsome/calling him pet names are the easiest ways for him to blush - It's an addicting yet embarrassing feeling for him.
Starting slow would be the most helpful {and sustainable} for him. For example: Starting with him washing his hands more - Then moving to washing his clothes, ect. Starting small is best, it won't overwhelm him as easily.
Offer to help him clean himself {don't get any ideas, pervert...or do, he won't mind}. Wiping his face down with a wash cloth, helping him clean his nails, tending to his wounds, cleaning his masks {with his permission, do NOT touch his masks without his knowledge}. This'll make him feel extremely cared for . Consider yourself lucky - Getting this close to Thomas, seeing him this vulnerable, is a privilege he's not willing to give anyone else 🫀

Tommy when he has to shower:
Me when I stole this image from alamy only to get lazy and put a Roblox face over it:
if the 2006 TCM movie was produced or direct by the same person as the 2003 remake {Marcus Nispel}, it would be so so SO much better. Don't get me wrong, I love TCM: The Beginning - For the lore. If I wasn't invested in TCM I wouldn't care for the movie - Honestly. The cinematography is wonderful {there's better, but I loved the shots outside the house/through the fields}, the FAMILY character designs are top tier - The group/main protagonists? Their designs are..fine. Nothing special, really {which they don't have to be, but some have pointed out that they aren't the most historically accurate.} THE HOUSE?? God, I love the architecture used in this movie - The house is an 1800's plantation home, which I LOVE the features of {not the history..}
I think what made the 2003 remake so great was how consistent the story was, how believable the story was, the cinematography, the characters, and the chemistry. Lots of stuff was happening in that movie - And that doesn't necessarily refer to the events occurring: The connection to the Hewitt's kitchen from the community center's display shelf - Leatherface/Thomas peering through the walls, floor boards, shutters, HIS MASK?? The reveal of Hoyt, Luda Mae, the Tea Lady, and Henrietta as antagonists??? {Monty was an opp from the start}
Also, I hate to say it, but the 2006 protagonists didn't appeal to me much. Listen..they are all GORGEOUS actors {both in talent and looks} but they were dealt with poorly-written characters. The dialogue is fine - Compared to the 2003 remake? Subpar. The 2003 protagonists had/have so much character to them - Pepper is what Bailey was intended to be: A sexual, screaming damsel who loses their love interest. Kemper you just feel bad for; He was gonna propose and dies before he gets to tell Erin? Especially since just {under} an hour before, she'd asked when they were gonna get engaged? His character is built on sympathy - He's a protective, sarcastic, and a bit too nosey for his own good {hence his death.} Morgan is a sensible anxious guy who’s kind of an airhead at times..but he’s logical when faced with fear {surprisingly.} Andy is the protective and reactive force {similarly to Kemper.} Erin is THE final girl. Smart, strategic, alluring? Doesn’t that sound like Erin?
Chrissie and Eric are good characters - but they could've been better. insulting your captives is NOT a smart move. At. All. The thing is, when Eric was insulting Hoyt, he was provoking him as a distraction. When Chrissie insulted the family, she did it as a final ‘fuck you.’ One is more productive than the other in terms of survival {but the ‘fuck you’ was deserved.}
Dean and Bailey pissed me off fr - No survival skills what so ever {okay, that’s not fair..they’re trying - and I sure as shit can’t be talking considering this was a life-or-death situation.} Also, I get it, no one wants to go to war {I sure as shit don’t} but consider Hoyt’s perspective for a moment:
Dean not only abandoned his country - he abandoned his brother. Hoyt knew from the moment he called Eric and Dean over which one was which. He stares Dean down so much; ESPECIALLY IN THE CAR !!!
Hoyt is disgusted by Dean. How could he be so selfish? After all this country’s done for him - He just..abandons it? Not only that, he sacrifices his brother? The Hewitts are so family oriented that this ONE action alone could've set Hoyt off. Pair the two together - Dean was bound to die.
{I feel bad for them all, just fyi}
The worst part {in MY opinion} is the waisted potential. There was so so SO much opportunities for this movie to focus on the FAMILY - Instead, it shares the focus with the protagonists. I know this is supposed to be about their 'first family kill' and how they adopted cannibalism, but we could've had so much more.
More into the relationship between Thomas, Hoyt, and Luda Mae. More into the sibling relationship between Luda, Monty, and The Tea Lady. How's Henrietta related? What was Thomas' first mask? How far did he make it in school? WHY can't he speak? CAN he speak? What is his skin condition??? I wish they explored these more in the movie rather than snippets during the introduction sequence.
Anyway..I still watch this movie religiously, but I wish it explored the family wayyyy more :)

How would the Hewitt family react if the reader had completely white eyes? (but they can see well, imagine when they are in the dark and their eyes are like animals)
What’s the toughest part about being Batman?Knowing that you’ll never make your parents proud.
Being Batman is sooo hard 😔
_____
Scared - And Highly interested. That's the essence of it.
This is arguably be one of the reasons {if not the main reason} you were spared. A compelling creature with a mutation? That's exactly how Thomas feels.
You could very easily startle these people - Peeking out from corners, the basement, or even the cornfield, all when it's real dark out.
Luda would have a heart attack if she saw two white eyes staring at her from the cornfield...she'd shiver. When she finds out it's you, she'll calm herself down and gently scold you.
"Gosh, ____, you startled me! I could'a had a heart attack right on this here porch." You two will laugh it off, but she'll still be a bit concerned.
Thomas would be extremely cautious: He's just so curious about you. You'll constantly catch him staring at you - Your eyes. He loves your eyes..He {as well as the other family members} are immensely curious as to how it happened.
"Why're your eyes like that?"
"Can you see?" - "Can you see in the dark?"
"Why do they...glow?"
Questions similar to this.
Hoyt is kinda..scared, to be honest. He's very confused; If he doesn't understand everything in fine detail, he gets intimidated. This comes off as annoyance and hatred - But trust, he doesn't hate you.
Jedidiah will draw you all. the. time. He does getting up close and asking questions; Be prepared lol
"Why're your eyes like that? Are you blind? Oh! Are you an animal-hybrid? I've always wanted to be a fox." - "Do they glow in the dark? Oo, oo! Can you see ghosts with those?" He's a very..excitable kid.

Thank you for the ask 🫀!
What would the dynamic in the family be if Thomas's first and potentially only child is a female? Will she have a hard time because of her circumstances, will she be regarded as more of an unwanted child because she was born a girl, and therefore, getting insults about being useless, or will she be handled with care?
This is a wonderful question!
Thomas:
Thomas never thought he'd have the privilege of having children, he was always focused on the job at hand. When that changed, however, Thomas was thrilled - Anxious, but thrilled. He didn't care if the child was male or female, they were his child, and he would love them as such.
Honestly, Thomas seems like such a girl-dad. Idk why, that's just how he reads to me.
In fact, he'd be more protective of a daughter than a son - Especially if she inherited some of his traits {such as his skin condition}. He'll love her to the ends of the Earth just as he would a son. I don't think Thomas would teach his children gender roles; He'd be more focused on their survival and fulfillment than some irrational societal performance. He never fit into society anyway, and he fit the gender roles just fine?
He'd rely on Luda Mae for a lot of parenting guidance: Doing her hair {by this I mean literally just taking care of it}, dressing her {as in finding clothes that suit her}, and discussions of puberty. He does NOT feel comfortable explaining that {not that he really could, anyway.}
What he will teach his child{ren} no matter the age or gender, is to be strong. Mentally strong more than anything. He wants his children to be able to survive, but not be forced to. He'd work himself to the bone if it meant his partner and {their} children could be comfortable, and safe.
He'd also sew his child{ren} stuffed animals, blankets, and some clothes - with guidance of his momma of course 🫀 He loves family very very much.
Luda Mae:
Gosh, Luda Mae would be in the seventh Heaven! She's wanted a daughter her whole life, having a granddaughter is even better. She'd offer to help with everything: Clothes, hair, babysitting, anything you could think of. And you know she'd be ever so protective of her granddaughter - Men will go nowhere near her without proving themselves fit {Thomas would hold the same view}.
Really wants to teach her how to cook, sew, bake, sing, and take care of the house - Traditionally feminine things, y'know? Luda grew up traditional, it'll most likely bleed into her granddaughter. She'll always call her "Sweetheart" - "Baby" - "Angel" - anything endearing and sweet, really. Very very affirmative of her granddaughter dearest 🫀
Luda will sing lullabies, read to her, probably invite her to tea with Kathryn/Tea Lady. She's a very comforting grandma :)
Now, I know we're having fun in la-la-land, but we gotta go back to TCM 2003 for a minute.
Luda Mae is a strong, independent, and direct woman. She will NOT tolerate ANY disrespect - Never. If her granddaughter acts out, consequences will be appointed.
Hoyt:
Now, I know what the immediate answer SEEMS to be: "Oh, Hoyt would hate that Thomas had a daughter instead of a son - He's a misogynist who hates all women!" And listen, I thought this too UNTIL I re-watched the TCM 2003 movie just to make sure. During one of the final scenes: 1:12:10 - 1:28:40, Hoyt can be seen peering over Henrietta and Luda Mae, looking down at the {unnamed} baby. He seems very affectionate {for Hoyt} - Smiling and cooing at her {Yes, the baby is confirmed female "She's mine"}
The truth is, I don't think Hoyt would mind it all too much. Would he have preferred a nephew? Yeah - But he loves his niece just the same. He'll teach her how to shoot, how to hunt, throw a punch, be strategic, and he'll definitely teach her a.."wide vocabulary."
He'd definitely be the type to say "this type of stuff ain't for women, young lady." For example:
"Now ___, I know you wanna get yer hands dirty like yer daddy and I, but this type of game isn't for little ladies like yourself."
Depending on how sassy Thomas' daughter is, Hoyt's tolerance for her will differ. If she's a foul-mouthed sassy sailor, Hoyt's patience will decreased as compared to an "innocent naive angel."
He's also..terrified, to say the least. He'll be wayyy more cautious about his remarks around Tommy's daughter - Afraid of how Thomas {and Luda Mae} will react.
Oh - and Hoyt will be one of the first to offer advice and protection for his niece, especially if she starts dating:
"He called you what? - Ugly? Hell, let's see this fella; See how 'ugly' he can get."
"Now ___, don't you be dating any soy-boys, make sure a man can take care of ya real nice, y'hear?"
He loves her, but he's not an affectionate {or kind} guy.
Henrietta:
God, she is so so so jealous - She's always wanted kids, but never had the opportunity to have some of her own. She'll definitely offer to babysit any chance she gets. She'd offer the same things as Luda Mae, just more often. Oh! And she'd be a wonderful..aunt? Second cousin? Idk what she would be in relation to Thomas' daughter, but she'd be wonderful at it! Always open to talk, and very very supportive.
{Uncle} Monty:
Would not care. At all. Leave him alone and he's all good 👍
"Stop staring at me with them bug eyes.."
"Girl, would you get me a beer?"
"Thomas! Get your daughter to stop taking my damn cane!"
"If you keep touching 'im {the dog}, he'll bite you."
Okay yay! Sorry for Henrietta and Monty's parts being short, I just don't see huge influence with the two of them - Plus Hen's basically Luda Mae 2.0, just less strict.
Sheriff Hoyt gay confirmed
I don't care what ANYBODY SAYS - This is foreplay to him
Do you think 2006 Thomas would like mud wrestling?
Maybe? - I've actually never thought about that lmao
Getting all dirty and worked up is nothing new to Thomas; He'd be good at in. Probably a good source of catharsis. He's a strong guy - Lots of strength and endurance; Plus he's tall..and big - It'll help I'm sure.
His family would call him a pig {in a loving and slightly joking way} 'cause of how messy he'd get. Hoyt would call him gay for wrestling, not because he thinks the sport is a "sissy sport", but because of the nature of wrestling.
"You're feeling up other men? Sounds a bit gay, Tommy." He's joking...somewhat.
Though Luda Mae would be extremely proud of him for trying something out..no matter how peculiar it may seem {to her}.
I think Thomas would have to be very comfortable with himself, his abilities, and his body before getting into anything that requires revealing attire - Such as swimming, wrestling; Hell, he's not even comfortable showering because of how much he sees of himself.
Anyway - This ask was fun! I had no idea of mud wrestling prior to this, I thank you for introducing me to it! I apologize if this ask wasn't up to par; If I need to clarify or add anything, please let me know !!
Thomas is 6 '5, around 300-330 lbs {136 - 150 kgs}. He’s strong, duh, but he’s also..very much fat. Strong fat. Have you not seen this man? His stomach protrudes {which doesn’t seem to be an alcohol-related thing}. His biceps are well-pronounced when he’s working. This man eats well - Mostly meat and carbs {Vegetables are carbs, too}. He works hard; Rarely takes breaks. His endurance is insane - The same goes for his self-discipline. He’s muscular and fat - You can have both. He’s an endomorph, he’s gonna be bigger.
Also..this is definitely a preference thing..but I think he looks tons better like this
Photos of what I think his body looks like:

so handsome
Give him his fat cells NOW 🗣️‼️ He looks better with them

This is literally just David Dorfman but still
average Hewitt family convo - Charlie's Jealous
"Leatherface's best friend is his chainsaw" is such a sad quote, but it's not inaccurate. Thomas doesn't have anyone besides his family - And his family demands his labor. He protects and feeds them; He also does most of the chores. If he died, the Hewitt family would die too. "His best friend is his chainsaw" reads to me as his dependance on his family, as well as his familiarity with violence. After the slaughterhouse shut down, Thomas' purpose was killing. Be the physical force in this family; Capture, torture, kill, skin, and butcher. He probably does most if not all of the physical labor: Cutting and collecting firewood, taking care of the animals, fixing utilities, all necessary aspects to sustaining life at the farmhouse. To him {and sometimes his family}, Thomas IS his saw. Just like when he was a butcher, Thomas IS his meat cleaver. Thomas IS his mask. Thomas IS his family's guard dog. That's why whenever someone calls for him, he's there within a matter of seconds. That's why he risks his life to "keep the family together."
Thomas {in his view} has no purpose outside of the family. His entire career has been violent, and that doesn't seem to be resolved any time soon. He's legitimately a guard dog; Work all day, minimal sleep, always alert, willing to die.

this is all I think about in relationship to Thomas
"This {the family} is like a feral pack of dogs; But there's enough that bonds them and there's enough natural primal necessity to solidify that as a family unit" - Andrew Bryniarski | TCM: The Beginning Behind the Scenes {15:54 - 16:03}
Do you think the Hewitt family would be against natives? Or just feel indifferent towards them? It's really gotten stuck in me because religion is one thing, ethnicity anathor, but folks with indigenous backgrounds tend to get hate from all kinds of people by just existing.
Honestly, I think you're gonna get the most from Hoyt and Monty. Hoyt is ignorant as shit - He views Natives as "the original hippies" because of the spirituality associated with indigenous cultures {Including Polynesians}.
"Native? Oh, you mean Indians?" No, Hoyt - Indian refers to India.
"Aren't Natives the ones with the sage and shit? Y'know, all the feather hats and 'old wise ones'?" No, Hoyt..
Monty will be just as bad - He's wayyy more vocal about it. Very racist. Would refer to the Washington Commanders {Previously named 'Redskins'} as comparison.
"But you don't look like the ones on TV" Type of commentary.
Same as with every racist encounter within the family; You'll have to explain that no, none of these stereotypes are true. ESPECIALLY if you're white-passing. "You don't look like a Native to me" - Lots of explaining on racial ambiguity and 'The Eve Gene'.
Very similar to my previous post, honestly. Lots of explaining and bigotry; You'll need a drink or two to get through it.
Tommy wouldn't treat you any differently - He's focused on how you treat him and the family, not your ethnicity :)
