Solarballs Proto Earth - Blog Posts

I have a dilema with two opposing headcannons that include Theia, Proto-Earth, Earth and Luna. I want to write some fanfic's but just can't decide which one to go with.

Headcannon 1: The first one is where Theia and Proto-Earth fatally collide resulting in Proto-Earth (Hadian) and Theia becoming Earth and Luna respectively. Proto-Earth would loose his memory of Theia and his short couple million years of existence before the Collision, and come to see Luna as his child. Luna would have no recognition as well of anything else before and just assume they were always a moon.

Headcannon 2: Opposing to that headcannon is the idea that both Proto-Earth and Theia were both completely destroyed by the Collision event together and current Earth and Luna are both of their children. This one would make a bit more sense as the cores of both proto-planets fused to create the current Earth's core, and in the aftermath of the Collision both proto-planet's matter would have combined to create the Moon.

This would give more cadence to Earth and Luna's brotherly bond as they are literally brothers created from the same circumstances (Earth would have woken up well before Luna did to be the elder brother).

I have seen many different takes from several different artists, writers, and animatics on the origin of current Earth and Luna. Every single one is so interesting to see as we all have different ideas on how these characters would interact and how their relationships would work but I just don't know if Luna should be a brother to Earth or a child to both Theia and amnesiac Earth (Hadian).

I’m not nearly talented enough to turn this into an animatic but I feel like it would be such a cute one.

Any thoughts on naming Proto-Earth, Hadean after the very first era of earth's formation?

I have been thinking lately about Earths astronomical symbol and I figured out how to connect it to Proto-Earth and Theia.

Earths symbol is classic, you can't mistake it but I have split it up into Proto-Earth:

And Theia:

Putting them together makes the Earth's symbol. Finally I had to figure out how to do Luna's symbol so I just got two of the semi circles and put them together like this:

I know its rushed but I feel like it really works and shows how the two planets collided to create the new Earth and Moon while still being apart of them.

Hi anon!!! Here is your ask!!!

They are not found of each other.

-Theia, because she finds Proto irresponsable. She believes that the rockies will become as important as any giant if most of them have life, since the Sun also has dreams about planets with life. Proto's travels to the asteroid belt, games and acessories made with asteroids are a sign that he does not take any possible life seriously.

-Proto, because everyone loves her and listens to her, so he fears that if he says anything wrong to her everyone will jump on him(he does not have any friends besides the asteroid belt trio), yet, he still can be too honest about his opinions. He finds her really pretty, tho(In a "I wish my hair could be as long" "I wish my eyes were like hers" kinda way, not a crush).

Fun fact: Proto's name is actually Gaia, people just don't talk with him enough to keep it to memory.

Since ya'll liked my Ceres post so much...

Proto Earth and Proto Ceres!!!

Little facts about them:

-They were best friends in the past! Most of the old rockies wouldn't really approach Proto-Earth, due to a long rivalry he had with Theia (Nobody really wanted to pick sides, but Theia was Mars' and Venus' best friend, and everyone liked Proto Venus and Mars)

-Proto was very protective of Ceres, an older brother kind of vibe;

-Ceres did not like Theia, nor did Theia like Ceres. Mutually assured dislike.

-Not referenced in this drawing, but Ceres, Pallas and Vesta liked to pick asteroids and make little acessories for Proto to use. Proto loved those... Most got destroyed, though. Not all by the collision.

(The Earth still has one of those that he found around in his orbit, he keeps it guarded in a locked in a locket. He doesn't know why, but it seems special, somehow.)

-The first two to ever play asteroid dodgeball.

Ah! I remember when I made a theory on the Solarballs discord that I think Proto and Ceres were friends in the past! I'm so happy to see another fan also believes it! :D

YESSS, Ceres and Proto friendship has so, so much potential!!!!

I still haven't gotten into the new eps (Just finished Battle of Planet X), but from what I've seen from the fandom the Proto and Theia arc will give a lot of lore for me to work with!!!
