I almost forgot to notify you

I FINALLY FINISHED THAT FIC ABOUT THE UZI AND DOLL.

ON THE NIGHT OF THE LAST SERIES, yes I have a very fast writing pace if you look at the art release date

But I finished it anyway!

And I'm also drawing art right now and really hoping to finish it before the premiere, looking forward to the finale!

Nerdy the Artist’s Murder Drones Fanfiction Spotlight!

Welp, it’s finally here! Sorry if this is a long time coming, or that this is shorter than expected. Nintendo has started to show more of Metroid Prime 4, and so my brainrot over Metroid has been reignited. Never the less, here it is! Following in the footsteps of my Metroid Fanfiction Spotlights, I am now going to be highlighting several fanfictions I have read that I believe are worth your time. I tend to focus on in depth storytelling and character exploration, but there may be an exception to that. In any case, these are in no particular order, though they will largely just be in the order I find them in.

1. Intermission

How could I make a post about Murder Drones fan stories without bringing up Intermission? This a fan episode of Murder Drones set between episodes 4 and 5, dealing with the aftermath of Uzi’s corruption from the Absolute Solver and further setting up Cyn and the past of the Murder Drones. The video is done as a well animated storyboard, with great sfx work and riveting voiceover performances. It even has its own soundtrack! The story isn’t perfect, but I do recommend watching it between Cabin Fever and Home, as it breaks up the breakneck pacing of that stretch of the show. There is also voice actors in this episodes also do a great job. Their impressions are ok at best, but the amount of emotion they bring to their roles is astounding. V, in particular, benefits immensely from this episode, getting center stage in much of the episode, and the nuanced and varied emotions for her character are delivered perfectly, showcasing her manic and tender sides in depth. If you wish you had more V, look no further than Intermission. I know most of you will have watched Intermission by now, but there for the new people to the series, go watch this incredible project.

2. Forgive and Forget. Forgive and… Forget.

Forgive and Forget is a fic that gyrates between cute and disturbing at an unpredictable interval. As of writing this, the author, Kiwi11, has gotten 9 chapters of this story out. It follows V as she wakes up aboard the Disassembly Drone transport ship. Due to some programming faults, she ends up being the only one in the group to remember their past, the Elliot Manor, Tessa, and a few small traces of memory of a certain fourth worker drone. There’s a lot of tech explanations of the ins and outs of the Worker and Disassembly Drones that I just eat up. There is also a lot of attention paid to the sort of secondary personalities the trio has. The ruthless obsession with company goals isn’t J’s coping mechanism in this or a sincere belief, it’s an intrusive split personality that takes over during moments of stress, making her more ruthless to even the people she cares about. I’ll leave it at that to keep you guys safe from spoilers. While this story isn’t finished, I can already say confidently it is worth a read.

3. Onions

Onions is, at its core, a sort of What If type of rewrite of Murder Drones, centered around one specific change; what if V found Uzi first instead of N? However, this isn’t just some halfassed excuse to write Vuzi Fanfiction. There is genuine creativity on display from nyhll. Firstly, things don’t play out quite the same as in the show. The changes are subtle, chains of events that wind up causing further changes down the road. One such occupance is from the scene where the Murder Drones find one of their own having gotten past the first and second bunker doors. As V doesn’t respond to the whole company schtick and dangling of trinkets, V isn’t given the “branded peeeeeeeeen” and thus Uzi doesn’t have it for the 2v2, causing the fight to go much worse, as well as the railgun getting destroyed in episode 1 rather than episode 2. Additionally, there are additional chapters set in between the corresponding episodes, adding extra depth to characters like Doll and Kahn. It is absolutely worthy of your time for that alone. But also… the whole vampire romance thing is played up here much more. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it for that as well. You’ll find my partners laughing at me in the notes.

4. Experiment

Many of the stories here are rather long (or will be once they are finished), so how about a little one shot for a change of pace? This story, written by Kenns02, tackles a particular oddity of the Absolute Solver; it can regenerate clothes, like N’s hat. This fun little fic display the main cast testing to see the extent of that ability, as well as its imperfections. It’s a fun short thing to read when you’ve got a minute to spare.

Decided to draw V today. I still haven’t quite cracked the code on her hair, but I’m getting there.

So if you’re at all in the Murder Drones fanbase, chances are you’re feeling a bit cheated right now. The series has had a lack of focus that even its most die-hard fans (such as moi) have noticed. The pace has just been too fast for it to really get down into character motives other than some basics and feels like it throws out more red herrings than real concrete answers. (Stay with me here.)

While I don’t know what Glitch, Vickers, or the team has planned for the finale, I can confidently say this. I feel like the series’s greatest flaw can also be its greatest strength for keeping the fan base alive after the finale. Yes, there’s a lot of red herrings, yes, there’s a lack of focus, yes, some of the characters don’t feel very fleshed out. But that gives us a wonderful opportunity to get to do that ourselves. It gives us a space and the freedom to be able to create what we want without half the fanbase going “NUH uh!1!”. Believe me, I’ve been in plenty of fanbases that while the source material is sound, well thought out, and executed flawlessly, it kind of left the fandom with little to play with when it came to worldbuilding, and when someone HAS tried to go and put their own personal spin on a character, portion of the story, or lore, people come out from the woodworks and dogpile on them. I personally think Murder Drones is in a perfect “problem” of the opposite. When there’s missing chunks to the story, that gives us plenty of room to reimagine the story with our own creative spin. I think that this’ll give the folks who’ve come to love MD a place to stay and a community to keep on creating in for a while to come. Yes, I’m sad it’s coming to an official end, but I think this will drive those of us who love it and care to create more amazing things that keep this series alive. Dare I say, more alive than ever before.

So in short, while I personally worry about this finale, remember, fellas, this gives the fanbase a place to shine ;)

Fanfiction of Doll x V from Murder Drones

There will be 5 endings, sad ending 1 and sad ending 2, happy ending (they will kiss 😔💔), and lastly bad ending 1 and 2 (those two last endings are not shipping btw, I don't like toxic yuri!)

Let's start, shall we?

Nori, Khan, Uzi and N successfully defeated Cyn (absolute solver). The church started to collapse but they managed to escape. But Cyn's corpse was still in the church (and also Doll's corpse). They exited outside and meet with Thad, Lizzy and J

J: You guys.. Actually... Did it..? You defeated Cyn.... Where is Tessa...?

N: Well.... Tessa... Cyn kinda... Uhh.. How do I put this.... But hey! Looks like I was usefull for once! :D *finger guns*

J: Ughhh... Stupid idiot... I'll go find Tessa-

N: Tho... I wish V could see that we did it... I wish I could have saved her...

J: Well, idiot, about that....

Then V suddenly flies up to them

V: I am proud of you N *smiles and hugs N*

Meanwhile in the back:

Lizzy: Yeah, yeah, good job, freak. Have you seen Doll anywhere?

Uzi got a little nervous and sad

Uzi: Well... About that.. She.. She didn't make it... I-I *starts shaking a little*

Lizzy was shocked, she drops her phone and shaking too

Lizzy: W-What.... No.. I don't belive you... You frea-

Then Uzi suddenly hugs Lizzy

V sees Lizzy

V: Oh hi Lizzy, how is it... Going..? Lizzy..? Are you.. Okay?

Lizzy: D-Doll... Didn't... She.. Died...

V was kinda shocked, she didn't expect that

V: What... I-I... *she turns to Uzi*. Is her corpse still in that church..?

Uzi shakes her head saying yes

V went to the remainings of the church. Trying to find Doll's body.

Meanwhile in the church :

Doll's core somehow escapes from Cyn's stomach (?), the core was kinda damaged tho, but it managed to get into its body.

V is searching for Doll's body, she then finds it. She tried to carry it, but she suddenly got vision on how Doll died, she felt guilty, she had died alone, in fear. V carries Doll's body and they went to Doll's house.

V: Guys... I have to go.. I need to put her.. Next to her parents...

V then flies away, still carrying Doll's body.

V: We're close to your house... I-I am really sorry... For everything... I know words.. Don't mean anything now.. I killed both of your parents... I actually.. Feel quilt now... First time actually... (doesn't apply to her past tho).. I-I made your life... Worse... I made it.. Like a living hell... I took everything from you.. I am so sorry...

They arrived at Doll's house

V: We arrived... Soon you'll be with your parents again..

V hugs Doll, she kinda started crying

Sad ending 1

V: I hope you rest in piece... You deserved so much more... You were one little brave drone....

V puts Doll on the chair, that she placed between her parents...

V: Goodbye... *salute*

Doll wakes up, everything was bright.. She suddenly notices two drones.. She realized that those were her parents. She started running towards them

Doll: М-Мама.. Папа?!

(M-Mom.. Dad?!)

Yeva: Кукла?! Моя драгоценная дочь... Что случилось... Тебя..?

(Doll?! My precious daughter.. What happened.. To you..? )

Yeva hugs Doll tightly

Doll: Я... Извини... Я пытался... Прости.. Что опаздывато... Я.. Я скучал по тебе...

(I am... Sorry... I tried.. I am sorry... I come late... I... I missed you...)

Doll starts crying

Yeva: Всё порядке, мы тоже по тебе скучали, по йдём сейчас..

(It's okay, we missed you too, let's go now...)

They grab and went towards the light

Doll: Мама, папа.. Я люблю тебя..

(Mom, dad.. I love you..)

Sad ending 2

Doll then suddenly starts coughing oil

V looked shocked, thinking how is she alive

Doll: Я... Что.. Случилось... Я... Почему... Почему ты.. Здесь.. УЙТИ-

(I... What happened... I... Why... Why are you... Here... GET OU-)

Doll started coughing more oil

Doll: Ух... Больно...

(Ugh... It hurts..)

V: Oh.. Oh. OH.. Eeasy there buddy... You're.. Alive..?

V tried to reach Doll

Doll: НЕТ! НЕ ПОДХОДТЕ СО МНОЙ! >:(

(NO! DON'T GET ANY NEAR ME!)

Doll tries to use the absolute solver, but the Solver tries to corrupt her core, which made her cough blood, and more oil. A warning sign appeared on her visor.

V: Easy there- *concern, shocked expression*

The Solver is slowly corrupting Doll's core. She is in pain, V tries to help Doll, but Doll pushed her away. Doll's core is now corrupted by the Solver... Yikes... Looks like the Solver had find it's new host.....

Happy ending

Doll suddenly hugs V

Doll: Все порядке... Это была не твоя вина... Теперь я понимаю что...

(It's okay... It wasn't your fault... I realize that now...)

V was shocked and happy at the same time

V: D-Doll..?! You're.. You're alive..?! I-I

V hugged Doll tightly and kind of cried. Doll hugs V back

Doll: Я.. Я прощаю тебя...

(I.. I forgive you...)

V: I... I love you...

Doll: Я тоже тебя люблю.....

(I love you too....)

They hugged each other tightly and started kissing <3 >:3

they make out later

Bad ending 1

V then suddenly get warning for overheating on her visor.

V: Huh... I... There must be something... Else here... To eat.. But your oil... It... It looks... So tasty... I can't... No...

V can't help herself. She started to chew on Doll's body 😔

V: I am so so sorry... I couldn't... But your oil... It's so tasty... I hope you could forgive me....

....

Bad ending 2

Doll suddenly wakes up. She got scared and felt threatened.

Doll: Какого черта ты в моем доме..!! Почему ты меня держишь...!!?

(Why the frick are you in my house..!! Why are you holding me!!?)

Then Doll suddenly gets the warning of overheating on her visor.

V: Oh hey buddy..! Don't worry..! I won't hurt you!!

Doll was using her solver to attack V, tho was hiding it, so V doesn't notice that.

V: I am sorry for what I did, but this time I want to help yo-

Then suddenly Doll used her solver to throw a knife at V, cutting V's arm. V accidentally drops Doll

V: Ow you red eyed doll freak!! You traitor! I shouldn't have trusted you!! Just because I felt guilt!! I should have left you the-.. Huh...?!

Doll disappeared

V: Where did you... Red eyed freak...? Where did you went..?

Doll then suddenly jumpscares V from behind... Eating her.....

Nom nom 😔💔
