How does it feel to serve under the Queen? To lie, to kill, to O B E Y? SF!Red Sans will not answer, and instead chooses silence.
- Official height is 5'7 because he wears heels
- He/Him
- He is competitive in a passive way
- Likes to drink Tea since he would enjoy a cup with the Queen often
- He is picky about touch, and actively avoids giving it. He's slightly uncomfortable if someone initiates it, and depending on who it is, he'll go out of his way to make sure they don't touch him
- He was competitive with Razz before, and even found him to be annoying before they became friends
- He's close friends with Powder
- He had a horrible relationship with Gaster, and can only dream of him where he can recall good memories before it turns into something....bad
- He was super distant from Rus and yet overprotective in the underground. He didn't want others to truly see how much he cared in fear of others using it against him and his brother
- Won't admit it, but he wants praise and validation
- Will try to be rational before using violence, but will proceed to not hesitate if his opponent pushes him enough
- He feels the need to constantly be independent and he doesn't trust himself or others enough
- Intelligent, cynical, confident, intuitive, well spoken, loyal, clever, dedicated, perfectionist, reserved, serious, over-thinker, stubborn, blunt, and a workaholic
- Does not curse often, but he will when he deems it appropriate
- He is much slower to trust others, even if he secretly craves companionship
- Considers himself selfish while close with others, but he is only softer and more patient with loved ones
- Despite his big talk, it takes awhile for him to actually strike someone physically, since he prefers to de-escalate the situation or use intimidation tactics
- Despite the strange nickname Mutt for his brother, he does not actually mean it in a demeaning manner and only uses it sparingly
- A wonderful strategist, he's wonderful at collecting data on others and he uses this to his advantage. He is not below blackmailing someone
- He is heavily scarred but he is not ashamed of it
- A gentleman, he would never go beyond your comfort level as long as you respect his
- He is adamant with giving advice, but he gives space for you to decide. However, he doesn't listen to his own advice and doesn't know how to help someone with their relationships
- He will berate you, but not to demean you or cause you shame. He does it from a place of care
- He is a smooth talker, so he's great at flustering or disarming others if he needs to. However, despite his constant appearance of seeming to be put together, he's constantly tense and anxious
- Emotions are not his forte, so jealousy is something he deals with. He stews in it until confronted, and even then he struggles to face it
- When he apologizes, it is extremely sincere unless he is faced among other higher ups. He rarely will apologize, and only will do it if he deems someone worthy of it. Otherwise, he can suck up his emotions in the face of authority and pretend to actually apologize
- He appears ruthless to his guardsman, the lieutenant of the Royal Guard
- He hates beating around the bush, he's direct and can appear very blunt
- He does not care for PDA in any sense, since that puts him and his partner in a vulnerable position while somewhere dangerous
- Magic smells of frost and mint, his magic tastes like red raspberries
- Doesn't do it often, but he will cook his brothers favorite meals out of feeling bad or when he sees his brother isn't doing well
- Gets really frustrated if he cries, and is quite loud while trying to hide it
- He hates his dynamic with the Queen. He is loyal to no one but her Queen, and fights for her. He knows she has an interest in him, but in truth he does not care and is only acting. He only cares for his brother, and knows she will excuse his brothers actions as long as he works for her
- He makes chalupas and is a wonderful cook, but he doesn't do it often after being placed with the other skeletons
- Goes clothes shopping with Wine, they're quite close because of this
- He has yellowed bone and red magic due to his LV, stress levels, etc
- A romantic
- He gives handshakes or of formality, but otherwise he won't touch someone else
- He would call his lover love or his lovely
- He's tactful about his decisions, avoiding getting attention at all points because he feels that a lack of attention is safer
- Despite acting like he doesn't care, he actually deeply feels awful that he cannot show his love for those he cares about
- He would rather tear his tongue out than admit that he actually craves companionship
- He sacrificed a lot to get into the Royal Guard in order to keep him and Rus safe, he doesn't realize how badly Rus got affected though with his role in the Royal Guard since he doesn't see him as much as he wants to
- He got his scar over his eye from the Queen, but he pretends to not despise her for it even if he dislikes her
- He confuses acts of service as a way of earning love from someone, and in turn he gets confused when earning gifts. He doesn't ever understand when someone does something for him, let alone gifts. So, if someone shows their love to him, he is left to wonder if they want something in return. Only later on does it become a healthy habit for him to see affection for what it actually is
- He doesn't like to think about what would ever happen if his brother actually hates him, since that's quite literally his only family and the only person he'd kill or die for
- The amount of dust on his hands is hard to count, he doesn't like talking about it though
Closing Notes: He's a character I definitely have rewritten a lot since his origins are written by a proshipper, and that influences stuff a lot. I honestly have fun writing him though, especially with his dynamics with the other Sanses and his brother. Rus is next, so eat up🫡
Now THIS is a favorite playlist of mine! I try to capture this feeling of white boy indie softness mixed with so angst with Stretch and this is a playlist I find myself looping for it! Please lmk if the artist themselves doesn't want their art to be used for things like repost n such. Thank you and enjoy
〈(•ˇ‿ˇ•)-→ Have a bracelet I made for him to go with it
always have been a big fan when people write the reader as something else instead of a human, like an avian or a ghost.
can we get a siren reader? Like perhaps the skele’s house is near a huge lake or ocean and one day they hear a sirens song in the distance (Please add killer sans, he’s my bbg)
OOOOH I LOVE WHEN THEY DO THAT TOO!! I imagined Killer being with a Ghost reader because I'm honestly just a sucker for that vibe. However!!! Per request I shall indeed write a siren reader x killer just for you with the sweet treat of it being a pirate version 🫶
Please enjoy my awful attempt at it :-)
CW: a storm causes him to nearly drown, so I just wanted to give a heads up
It's terrible and quite embarrassing, honestly. He lives in the middle of the damn ocean yet he never learned how to swim? Killer knows how stupid it sounds, but acknowledging it while drowning makes him feel even worse.
A storm, quick and sudden ravaged the ship as waves crashed against the deck and licked at the edges like a hungry beast. The others had attempted to control the ship while others had gone inside to hide from the rain and sea, but he just had to go and attempt to save one of his fellow crew mates. He has always sworn up and down that he doesn't care for the others, too apathetic for their feelings and too careless for consideration. And yet, there he went, proving the others and even himself wrong.
He had just managed to haul them up from the side, pulling his weight in order to sloppily yank them back on board. Of course though, the sea demanded a meal, lapping it's cold and harsh tongue against the rim and pulling him backwards as the ship swayed to the side. He barely had time to take a breath, squeezing his eye sockets shut as his weight was yanked from beneath him.
If he managed to survive this, which was unlikely, of course, then he would never hear the end of it. Hah, he had to admit that sounded much better than this though...
His ability to hear anything up above was severed as soon as his body started to sink, black ink pooling from his eyes as his sockets burned with involuntary tears. He did his best to look up, the dark blue and green waves swishing his body like he was going to be nothing but backwash. He could feel his chest tightening with a desire to breathe, but he knew better than to gasp for air. He did, yes, but his body still caused him to almost involuntarily inhale sharply as salty and disgusting sea water filled his mouth.
He hacked back coughing, and only then did he start to struggle as he could see through the dark current that his eyelight was glowing as he was bombarded with panic. He thrashed and kicked, screaming as he didn't know what else to do other than exhaust his own body like a fool. That's what he was best known to be, after all, a fucking fool.
If he had bothered to look anywhere other than up, maybe down perhaps, then he would've seen the glowing eyes watching him with outstretched claws. But alas, the waves tired his body out twice as quickly since he had already swallowed down so much water, and his consciousness was climbing desperately to remain. Kick your legs forward, push your body beneath your hands, use the tides to your advantage to go up for air, do somethi-!
.....
______________________________________________
He wasn't conscious for long, a ragdoll tugged down by those clawed hands just as quickly as his consciousness was swept away and the ink from his eyes blurred his face like watercolor too wet until the paper tore from below.
You, of course, watched the ordeal and witnessed it without much thought. This happens often, you thought, but never before have you seen a living skeleton. How fascinating! His body worked similar to a human too, how peculiar. Sadly, he was about to flat out die from drowning by the time your arms pulled his body close.
You let out a low, clicking sound as one of your clawed fingers traced an outline along the corner of his socket and down his cheek. What a strange creature, oozing with ink that reminded you of a squid when he was a skeleton. Then again, seeing such odd things always piqued your curiosity. You didn't want him to die.
A small hum escaped you as you aggressively dug your hand into your satchel that you always carried with you. Pulling a small, blue pearl like orb between your fingers, you shoved it down unceremoniously down his jaw, thumb pressing it down to pop it inside and promptly shutting his mouth shut to keep the substance down. Sure this was less elegant than you would've preferred, but if you didn't act quickly he'd genuinely drown.
You heard the sounds of sparkling inside of him and with a satisfied coo, you wrapped your arms around his chest and pushed hard into his bones until you saw his eye sockets shoot open and cough out water. He seemed to still be disoriented, but now he had that water out of his system thankfully. You kept him wrapped up in your arms as you swam with ease, diving down low as you saw his consciousness blinking in and out with his eye lights.
They were pretty, bright....
Dismissing that, you decided that you like this strange skeleton enough to keep him, so you would wait until the waves calmed down before putting him back up. You only had a limited amount of pearls, after all. However, this was going to be a struggle by how his eyes happened to find yours before shrinking. Quick, maybe a smile will help?
______________________________________________
What is the strange taste in his mouth? Why is he awake? What has a hold of him? Oh my stars it's fucking huge! Oh it's genuinely so big and long this isn't a shark or a fish??? And and and it has an upper body of a human-esque figure and oh they're kind of pretty and scary with such bright and glowing eyes despite the sharp teeth and wait actually it's still terrifying just fucking great. He's struggling and the creature won't let go and it's dragging him somewhere oh stars it just bared its teeth at him-! There goes his consciousness again.
______________________________________________
By the time he woke up again, he felt something heavy laying on top of him. He felt sand beneath his bones as it irritably found its way into the cracks of his bones and he had to blink away the blue of his vision as he saw that the sun was just barely rising along the ocean waves. It must be dawn, he concluded dumbly, or maybe sunset? He can't tell.
What he can tell, however, is that the weight on his body has shifted and he's now face to face with....oh.
You were...scary. Kind of?
What lay on top of him was a curled up sea creature lazily draped over his body, large and strong. Tied to an upper body that resembled almost a humanoid figure was a long, thick tail as it flicked partially in the water as the tides rose and fell along the beach line.
Your flesh wasn't made of scales, per say, and by the coloring he could see how it blended right into your upper body. Dark hues of blue with a hint of green undertones blended together to a sort of tabby style of pattern down the center of your tail. Your hands looked to be dipped in the same gradient with their own webbing and fins along your elbows, and as he looked at you, those same hands seemed to be caressing his cheek as your eyes watched the glow of his soul that promptly seemed to be unsteady as it visibly trembled on his chest.
A siren.
He stared at you, saw your pupils dilating as you made a low, repetitive trill. You haven't eaten him yet, and you seemed happy to see that he was awake. Where was he?? Why haven't you killed him?? Where was his crew? Your jaw opened to show sharpened teeth, but what came out was what resembled a melodic chime of....delight?
He couldn't understand you, and as he sat up, your body slowly moved back along the water as you dipped down for what he assumed was some air before you rose back up, splashing some water over your tail and upper body. You pointed to him before chirping again, but he could only cock his head to the side.
"H-haaah-....I'm sorry, I can't understand you. Did you....save me?" It couldn't hurt for him to try and speak to you, sirens could understand the common language, right? You seemed to perk up at his words, a gambled sound of speech blurting out of you. He winced at the sound, which only made you falter. "Ah-...sorry, I didn't mean to offend you by that." He was quick to apologize, a smile plastered on his face as he tried to save face. He didn't want to offend his savior, especially if you were capable of eating him.
"Y-yEs." You tried again. Better. Okay! Okay he was getting somewhere! "Do you know what happened to my ship??" "F- F-...LoaT." "Float? So they're okay?" You nodded your head, grinning widely. He promptly fell back on the sand in relief, sighing as he grasped his chest. "Okay....oh thank the stars..."
He laughed, and he didn't particularly understand why. Maybe he was relieved to the point of laughter, even if he already wanted to know how he could get back to them. But right now, he felt exhausted. Maybe though, maybe you would help him get back? Unless you intended to keep him, which wasn't ideal. Killing him would just suck, and killing you would leave him stranded and alone. He could think about that later though. He was a guy that needed a break from too much stress, even now in such a serious situation.
Never the less, he felt your hand resting on his arm as you hesitantly cooed at him, tilting your head at him curiously. He looked at you again, then back down at his soaked and torn attire. His white blouse was torn, pulled out from his black silk pants and one of his leather boots missing. His sword was gone too, which sucked tremendously. Any jewels he wore must be gone somewhere deep in the blue sea, and all that really remained somehow was the ring he wore on his phalanges. Thank the stars for that.
It was a custom ring that glinted bright, a sigil decorated by the captain himself. If he were to lose that? Well...he doesn't want to think about that. He felt a tugging on his shirt, flinching slightly with a wavering smile when he turned his head to the side. You were staring at him, faces near inches away from his own. He tried not to freak out, but instead he just adjusted his head back a little with a small laugh.
"What?"
You just stared, not saying anything, before you smiled. "...hAppy?" "Happy? Am I happy?" You nodded your head. "Well, I guess...I want to go back home to the others though; back to my crew, y'know?" He answered honestly, rolling his sleeves up as he rolled over on his side before rubbing his skull. You offered a reassuring pay on his back, running your fingers along his spine as you nodded your head. Maybe you would help him? "Let's not think about that now! Actually...let me check somethin'...."
Without looking at you, he patted himself down, trying to check if he had lost anything else. Maybe his sword was gone, but what about-.... "Ah- Hahaha-! Yes!" He cursed, cackling, before abruptly jerking his head towards you. He saw your confusion, but he simply grinned even wider, pulling the very small and intricate blade from his tucked in and hidden pocket. Hey, you never know when you need an extra blade, right?
"I found my knife," He promptly stated, proud of himself for keeping something he liked so much. You sort of just- blinked at him. However, you offered a confused, sort of disoriented sound of acknowledgement, so that was something.
He looked around his surroundings once more, and with great effort, he stood up finally. You stared up at him, your tail flicking once more. He, openly deciding to ignore his problems, finally clapped his hands together and spoke with confidence. "Why don't we get something to eat, hm? Does that sound good to you, pearl?"

Closing Notes: I've been busy with stuff and I kinda didn't know how to end things, so I apologize if it's kinda bland or at least notttt my best writing. I hope you enjoyed it @alexsorsis 🫶
Saint Serrif
- Official height is 5'11
- He/Him
- Nihilist
- Taller and thinner bone from unstable magic
- He smiles a lot when he's in a dangerous situation, but otherwise he usually can be seen without one when he dislikes someone or finds them not worth his time listening to
- Has fast reflexes in dangerous situations since he had to be efficient underground. Otherwise, he comes off as slow to others because he takes awhile to actively choose to do something
- He carries guilt from what he did to Lunar, even if he thought that without it his brother would dust. Which, at the time, he would've
- Dedicated, protective, untrusting, observant, responsible, honest, caring, humble, reserved, pessimistic, hardworking, over thinker, cynical, stubborn, aggressive, and blunt
- The most patient Sans out of all the others, but only when he wants to get what he wants. He's only impatient with others who he dislikes
- Good friends with Powder and Red
- Selectively mute, he's more obligated to speak when he chooses to. There are moments where he just can't, however. Most of the time though, action is his language
- Loves any sort of food, a literal dumpster of food. Hell compliment the person's cooking and eat it even if it's utterly shit
- Does not remember Gaster due to all the events that occurred in his timeline. Gaster on the other hand watches in misery and grief, spiteful towards humans
- Will resort to violence easily, he doesn't hesitate to use it even if it's not fully needed
- He curses frequently, has a sailors tongue
- If he is not actively being spiteful, he follows directions without complaint. He may need guidance however, since he overthinks it
- Can be severely petty to the point he's doing it to provoke the other
- He is very deprived of touch, but he's too hesitant to initiate it since he carries a lot of dust and blood on his hands. He gets all stiff and awkward if someone touches him, and it'll take time for him to get comfortable
- Yellowed bone with an ash tint due to his health
- He is the best to rant to since he's quiet and patient, but there are times that he's just not listening at all. He only pays attention if he cares, because otherwise he'll pick his teeth and passively aggressively tell you that yes, he's listening, because he just cares oh so much about it
- He's willing to do anything for those he cares about over his own needs, anything.
- He is a very quiet crier, kinda disassociated as he stares at nothing. Catatonic, in a way
- He would wag his finger cartoonishly when scolding someone or use his finger to beckon someone instead of waving them over
- He clicks his sharp fingers against hard surfaces when impatient, even if he doesn't verbally tell someone that he is
- He would call his lover lamb or sugarplum
- He summons a thigh bone as a weapon, but he carries a cleaver that he's attached to and will use it when he's low on magic. After all, magic is something he uses sparingly
- He absolutely hates Undyne and Alphys. He calls Undyne "Unbitch" and he isn't afraid to insult her
- He lobotomized Alphys after she betrayed him
- Has a rough sense of humor
- He feeds the people in Snowdin, even going so far as to teleport to the castle to steal food
- He starved underground for about seven years in order to feed the others
- He has awful posture, his neck bent forward and constantly slouched
- His "prank" in the forest was a spinning spike instead of a whoopie cushion
- Is quick to be snappish and rude to those he dislikes, he will only behave if asked by someone he cares about
- He only is nicer to others when above the surface and gains trust in others
- He is quiet when upset, going to Lunar and quietly clinging onto him
- Physically the strongest and most violent Sans, he isn't afraid to use his own hands and its clear that he doesn't mind playing dirty
- He never ate human flesh when underground, but he has fed monsters in Snowdin humans or even animals in order to provide. Because of this, monsters in Snowdin not only were physically changed, but their magic changed as well. It is unknown how the same has happened for Saint, but it's suspected that it's because of his LV that he changed
- Magic smells of veviter and oak, magic tastes of vanilla
- Has memory issues so he owns journals and sticky notes when above the surface. Without it, he struggles to remember even simple facts. He doesn't struggle remembering Lunar, however, since his brother was the only constant in his life
- No one is allowed to touch his skull, as it's his most vulnerable spot
- His other eye socket is pretty much empty, thus making a blind spot for him and means that he doesn't like sudden movement there
- He will not tolerate people wasting food so don't even think about doing that in front of him
- He scratches at his skull as a comfort or a habit when overthinking. But because he's done it for so long, it slightly chips like paint and small amounts of dust flake off
- Good at sewing, he picked up the skill underground after his brother's outfit became tarnished. Because supplies are limited, however, he doesn't bother fixing the ripped up shirt he wears. You can see small sewings on his jacket, however
- Can hardly spell for shit, he has awful handwriting since he had to focus seven years worth of his time through survival
- He ends up wearing a lot of comfortable and soft clothes when above ground, he refuses to wear suits unless hes forced into it
- He treasures gifts dearly, he never lets anything happen to them
- He carries snacks around when above ground since he never wants anyone to feel hungry. He also sneaks food and stocks up on it, he's wonderful at preserving things and splitting it up for rations despite his hunger
- Likes the rain but refuses to go outside without his hood, a hat, or umbrella since the hole in his skull is sensitive to the sensation
- Certain things make his skull hurt while others can rest inside such as flowers. Rain or liquids are usually a no go though because it swishes around
- He doesn't like thunderstorms because it's loud, since his magic is unstable and acts as damaged nerves
- He doesn't like the sensation of mud, the texture is too similar to blood
- He hates liars and those that are secretive. Because of this, he's nosy and good at finding dirt or lies someone has. He's able to determine where someone is, where they went, and most of the time why. But, no one is able to do the same thing with him. He's the best at covering his tracks, and even more so at not sharing information about himself
-He smokes occasionally, drinking even less so unless no one is around. He has to be in a bad mood, or else he won't drink
- He's pretty territorial, protective of who he deems as his close loved ones. So no one is allowed to mess with his brother or some of the other skeletons in the household. He'd kill for them
Closing Notes: he is so silly goofy goober omg😍🤭😋. But seriously I like the combination of putting different versions of him into my own hc's since the bear version and the rat version both have their perks. I plan to explore more of his dynamic with his brother and stuff later on! If you have questions do not be afraid to ask and thank you for reading :-))
Does Dust think that the bad Sanses would be selfish? Is there a reasonable reason for him to join the Bad Sanses in some versions? He killed his entire underground thinking it was a more merciful kill than them having to go through the constant resets and he couldn't take it anymore before losing his mind. I think just making him stereotypically "psycho" doesn't give him the justice I see much of. I think the idea of taking away the happy endings of others is impossible for him, especially in specific timelines. I think that the versions of each Bad Sans having their own reasons would be fun, like how I imagine he could've been convinced by Pap to go in order to not Starve.
Don't even get me STARTED on Saint, either. He, in my opinion, joins the Bad Sanses to provide safety and food for the underground. His whole character is defending and caring for the underground despite his rough edges. It's not like he would abandon his brother and village when they're victims of fate and cruel circumstances. The idea that Killer killed everyone to just FEEL something? At least there's some level of understanding for Dust even if he also would dislike him. I've always seen Saint as a character always wanting to protect the weak, or at least protect helpless monsters in bad situations. That could lead to a whole way of him bonding with Dust for that matter
If I'm to think of Killer in the way everyone™ in the fandom sees him, he would have the least justification.
,,,,BUT WHAT IF I THINK OF SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT?
What if Killer decided to join the human to try and stop the resets like Dust? That his method wasn't just to "stop feeling awful" or to "feel nothing at all." I think Sans as a character is very fascinating, and I like to personally think he would pair with Chara as a way not to stop Frisk, but rather to stop the player. It would be interesting to think a part of Chara and Sans are fused into a soul rather than Killer y'know,,,,killing them. I don't care for the evil Chara interpretations, and I think this could lead to a more empathetic light to a character (Killer) with a really cool concept. It's a shame to me that out of all the Bad Sanses, Killer has the least justification and doesn't have that slice of humanity in him that could give him empathy from people in the community
These are just my personal takes, even if whoever reads this may think they're bad takes. Again, I LOVE almost every version someone has of a character so many people can interpret in different ways. I just like adding my own twist to try and pump more depth into each of these silly guys
Thanks for reading if you read this much of my rambling🙂↕️🫶
I'm thinking of Sanses and Papyri in pretty dresses and now I'm giggling over how pretty they would all look. I think I'm gonna scroll on Tumblr to find them in the dresses I know they'll all slay in
If y'all got asks about any x reader content, don't be shy and just send me an ask. I need the inspiration
Again, my bad for forgetting to post here
Ink Sans
(Headcanons below)
- Official Height: 5'5
- He/They/It
- Follows theism, he must fulfill his duty to the true creators
- Friends with Many AU Sanses, or at least acquainted with them
- The God of Creativity, he is the physical embodiment of motivating artists and creativity to create AU's, AT's, etc
- He has mutual hate but respect for Error
- Easily Forgetful due to his multiple trips through AU's, Timelines, etc
- Very lonely, he has mostly hollow friendships
- Dreams of other versions of him, but he can never find them
- Very touchy, he doesn't care to respect those boundaries and they even push boundaries
- Good friends with Red, somehow
- Talks to himself out of loneliness sometimes
- He envies genuine connections that others have
- Magic smells of paint, magic tastes of skittles
- Brutally honest
- AuDHD
- He likes dogs and cats, any animal really
- Loves to twirl and do tricks with his paintbrush, dances with it
- His paintbrush is extremely light to him, but heavy to others
- Accidently teleports inside Nightmare's goop once and it was fucking terrifying
- Soulless, only Fresh and Error know that he doesn't have an actual soul
- Laughs at inappropriate times, he doesn't know how to react to things sometimes
- Doesn't curse often, but will use 'shit' often
- Highly flexible and acrobatic
- Sometimes interacts with other Sanses but it's strangely off-putting and intense, he has an off putting energy
- Highly devoted to Creators and Fate, scarily loyal and worshipping towards them. He must do what they intend from him, even if that means being truly neutral
- His kindness can be sincere, but it's rare. He has manipulated others with his kindness to further please the Creators, and his kindness often is unsettling
- Incapable of dying, he is the only one that can truly face Error
- His vials are his emotions, and without them he doesn't experience anything. It is unknown how he gets those vials and how they are restocked
- He carries a pair of scissors and uses them sometimes when he's caught in Error's string
- Erratic, unsettling, playful, confident, honest, perceptive, controlling, manipulative, social, self efficient, loud, nosy, individualistic, curious, dedicated, impatient, intelligent, creative, stubborn, and theatrical
- When he drinks his vials, he tends to also have a shift in appearance despite it being subtle. His eyes go to a shade of color his vials are and his expression will shift. Small details like his body language, his form of talking, etc will change
- He grows apathetic, monotonous, and more harsh without his vials. He gets like this near others, his way of even laughing sounding empty as if a husk is mimicking him
- He aims for mistakes and encourages it for creators only because he finds it perfect. They can do no wrong, even if some things are what he dislikes
- He hates when anyone tries to disrupt an AU, often masking it with a positive attitude and forcefully stopping them even if they're dangerous
- He easily can switch between emotions, especially when drinking more than one in a certain order. For example, he can drink a blue vile and then a yellow one, helping him transition between what he feels. The reason he doesn't drink them often near others is because he likes to appear "normal"
- He aims for perfection from others and despises any creator being disrupted, often dragging the issue away. He loves creativity, but that means also disrupting something to make sure his creators are happy
- He always has something slightly off about him, despite being a wonderful actor of sorts. Even when happy, he's just- different
- He hates being called out, especially hates if they're confronted about something he's masking
- He isn't afraid to lie to get his way, it isn't capable of feeling that guilty for long
- They can only be themselves when alone or if he's deeply connected with someone; which is nearly impossible
- He can never deceive Error, even if he tries it sometimes. Error is one of the every few to openly degrade him and in turn Ink finds ways to degrade Error
- A storyteller, he knows almost everything about each AU. He often isn't shy enough to drop lore here and there, watching acutely throughout each form of the multiverse
- He was created as an "adult" so he never had a childhood, but he has a backstory. He can't remember it, but they have drawn themselves without really thinking about it
- It has no defined age, stat, hp, defense, or LV simply due to not having a soul
- They quote a lot of things since he loves obsessively watching shows, AU's, etc
- Due to his lack of fear, he's extremely risky and impulsive. He'll just laugh and jump right in
- He grows fidgety, annoyed, and impatient when things don't go at a pace he's satisfied with
- Even if he's impatient, he's hard to actually piss off. A part of it is because he's so erratic and hard to read
- Stupidly has good balance, it's overall just weird how well he has the balance he has
- Paints and sketches regularly, no form of art is favored over the other
- Often seen with the same outfit, but he loves changing it up at times
- Loves to be in small spaces when needing comfort, often shifting his body in ways to fit inside because it doesn't remind him of the void - where nothing is present
- Hates empty spaces and lacks of creativity
- He's only motivated for what's right for the AU's or himself
- Can be extremely selfish and childish, but often his goals align with "good." He has helped the Bad Guys occasionally though
- It's hard for him to feel pain, since his pain receptors are all fucked up. He can be heavily injured and not realize it or even feel it unless he's worn out and loses/losing a battle against another "God"
- It's hard for him to hate someone, but he can heavily dislike them. If he chose who to hate the most, it would definitely be Error
- He has been childish in worse ways than possible, often helping creators make new AU's despite the cramped space. Sure, the multiverse is beyond humongous, but it only can handle so much before colliding other worlds together and even destroying those worlds. He and Error have overlapping goals, and only rarely will they work together since they're such opposite skeletons
- He loves to mock and mess with Error the most, especially when they battle despite neither one being able to die. Ink can get just as cocky as Error, and in fact loves to provoke Error
- Their vials can only do so much, as they can only temporarily fill in space for an emotion that one with a soul has. It can form in the shape of what's meant to be a soul in the color of the vial, but it's never permanent
- He'll often stare at others for long periods of time, usually in an obvious manner as he looks at them and their soul. He doesn't feel the need to blink, so it can be unsettling
- When his vials give him the illusion of having a soul, he will often cradle it and stare at it for long periods of time
- He never can run out of liquid inside of his vials, but they can break and this leaves him without that emotion until he fixes it through a long process
- He is willing to experience any emotion, as he just wants to feel it. He can optionally not have any at all, but it's rare he chooses that
- Narcotics do not affect him in any way
- Has an obsessed curiosity for humans, who he knows are capable of creating worlds. It's only the authors, the artists, he actively obsesses over
- Does not view creators or players as 'simply' human, but rather beyond gods themselves
- Adores having marker or paint on him
- Has a Doodle Sphere where time is slowed down and no one can reach him
- It struggles trying to find ways social skills work, especially since each universe has it's own standards
- Steals food and other trinkets from universes even if he has no need to eat
- Occasionally speaks French or Latin
- Does not understand gender roles, but they will wear more masculine and androgynous outfits with the occasional fem
- On the aroace spectrum, especially since being a God means that other things are too important
- STRUGGLES reading and writing
Closing Notes: He's so-.....GUAH. I actually didn't care much for them growing up, but I think that they're an interesting character deserving of exploration
Souls
Let's talk about souls. So I wanted to work on distinctions and really grasp how they're different and similar between Monsters and Humans. Below, I speak as if this is from like- a journal entry. These are all my personal headcanons really or interpretations, and I'd love commentary or your opinions on it as well!
One distinction is that the soul and the heart are different. One is physically visible to the human eye, it helps function the body and pumps blood. However, the soul rests around the heart and is practically invisible unless a Monster (and once before a human) pulls someone in for an encounter or if the soul is safe enough to decide to expose itself. Before, there used to be Mages, humans who possessed magic that was learned from the Monsters. But, as time has gone on, there have been no reports of humans being able to see their soul without the presence of a monster. Monsters, being made entirely of magic, are the only ones able to see a soul through encounters or through the consent of another. Showing a soul is very intimate, and is only ever exclusive for partners who share a very strong bond and are “mated.”
It is very important to state that Humans are the only ones with Soul Traits™ while Monsters mostly have no distinct reason why their magic is a certain color. There is suspicions that it may be due to a monster having something akin to following a soul trait, the amount of LV they have, or how their environment has influenced them. Of course, this would have to explored later on when reflecting on Undertale and all of its AU’s.
Now back to exploring Souls as a whole.
No matter if you are a human or a monster, If the body is sick, so is the soul. It's hardly ever severe, but there are ways to make the soul unhealthy at times without the body becoming sick. The differences between Monsters and Humans is that only Humans have soul traits and thus are the only ones able to make their soul sick in the way that it affects their personalities. Humans also can be physically sick without it being due to their soul, as their body is separate from their soul. If a monster is sick, they cannot alter their soul or personality, and this means that they are actually more vulnerable because their ailments are directly because of soul problems. Rarely does a monster get sick however, since they have been underground and thus have an environment that sustains them.
Every human has a little bit of every trait, but what makes one stand out is the amount of a trait being in a person's soul. At birth, a human soul is almost a milky white, much like a monster soul, but overtime colors will appear based on each child's experience. If a soul is already a full trait without other soul colors being visible, it is a rare condition and simply means that the child had this occur through a random selection of circumstances. There is no way for this soul to change unless something extreme happens, but that rarely occurs just as how full trait souls occur in children. Traits can be easily influenced within children, but it is harder to have this change into teen hood as it's normal for there to be two or three soul traits that mainly drive the teenager without excluding other traits that may be prevalent in general. When the human reaches adulthood, the most dominant trait ends up staying whether it later ends up corrupted, used in excess, or remains as it originally was. There may be evidence on the soul that can show that there is another trait that drives a human to behave a certain way, but there has not been enough study on the human soul beyond what monsters have studied and what humans have studied within restricted opportunities. After all, to expose a soul is not only a very private, intimate experience, but depending on the age and sensitivity of the patient, it can be easier to damage a soul through physical contact as the soul becomes more prone to its environment.
Now, what are the differences between too much of a trait, corruption, falling down, or going against a trait?
Too much of a trait will cause it to overflow like a liquid, often affecting the individual's personality. It's not as detrimental to the human as losing a soul trait or corrupting it, but it can lead to higher risks within the human. It is easier to reverse the effects, however, but it takes time. Depending on the soul trait, it can be harder to reverse the effects before the human may run the risks of endangering themselves. As times have changed, it is also reported to be a more rare occurrence for a soul to excessively overflow, and actually is more common for a soul to be corrupt or for a human to go against a soul trait
Going against the soul's trait will lead to discoloration of the soul until eventually, the soul will turn grey. If a soul is discolored but not grey, there is a higher chance of fixing things. But, the more discolored a soul is, an individual is more likely to be physically or mentally ill since the soul has a strong influence on a human's physical body. It is harder to heal from this, as often enough it can cause a human to be more stubborn about their ways and make it more challenging for the soul to recognize itself.
To Note: Through experience, a soul trait may be slightly discolored or brighter than usual, but it only minimally affects the human and can be repaired through other means. Both of these situations can be just as damaging as the other, but they can often lead to two options: Corruption or Falling Down
No one understands how this happens. It is when the soul starts to crack and often enough will lead to the human soul to be twisted into something else. This is the most rare ailment that will cause a human to become someone else, and change the soul permanently into what is known as the soul trait Hate. The soul starts to almost wither and crack, a black underneath that starts to almost paint the soul or chip it into a pitch black that is almost practically irreversible. Corruption leads to this soul trait and this has influenced a lot of mages when the war on Monsters caused it in the first place. It not only altered their personalities and interests, but even their magic. However, because recorded history of what happened has been lost to time, no one knows what exactly the abilities were that stemmed from Hatred. It is exclusive to Humans and thus is one of the reasons Monsters have such a fear of them, though more specific details of this sickness has blurred over the years until misinformation led to Monsters assuming that Humans in general are dangerous despite the state and conditions of their soul. Not quite Human and definitely not Monster, being corrupt has never been reported to occur in full within recent years. The only recorded time a Human was ever fully corrupt was when the War against Monsters occured. After all, Mages had magic and this is rumored to be why this was the only time Hate has ever become a Humans soul trait. Though, it is noted that Wars between Humans have been a result of political figures and civilizations being infected with the sickness that leads to the cracking of Humans within early stages of Corruption.
Falling down is not exclusive, as it can affect humans and monsters alike. Falling down is entirely when the Soul starts to lose Hope. Whether it is through a monster or a human, what happens is that the soul will start to wither or “dust.” It starts to drain HP and the strength within the body, thus making the Monster or Human more vulnerable and weaker. It is suspected that it does not affect the use of Magic within a Monster, but HP and their Hope scale will decrease. A perfect example is Undyne vs Sans. Sans has 1 HP, and even if he's strong, in the Pacifist route he comments on just giving up. This leads to me concluding that this is why he not only is the only one to dodge attacks within the game (not including fandom interpretation), but he also seems to be a more depressing character who seems to be nihilistic/apathetic. He's more vulnerable to Falling Down, unlike Undyne. She quite literally forces herself to fight because her Hope for the underground and Determination to fight drives her. So, for Monsters, it's entirely based on their experiences. For Humans, it is also based on their experiences, but their Soul Trait has a huge play on how vulnerable the are to Falling Down. Kindness, Patience, and Integrity traits are the most prone to it, while Determination, Perseverance, and Justice are less likely to experience Falling Down.
Closing Notes: With my next post, we'll explore all the souls based on their rarity, their perks, and their risks. Again, this is all personal headcanons. Thank you for reading :-)
Oh no guys, I got held at gunpoint again. Underswap Sans held a Nerf gun at me and told me to post my headcanons oh nooooo
Okay so this is funny
For one, whoever said no, you're so valid but I am cringe and that option is not available now. So I'm gonna make two extra posts for the utmv skeletons and then the main 7-8 AU's out of the 14 roommate hc's I have teehee
Thank you all
Answer or blow up (said evilly)
